GCB Symposium

As part of the doctoral training, the GCB organizes an annual symposium for all PhD candidates and their thesis committees. From the 13th month after registering in the GCB, doctoral candidates are offered the opportunity to present their research projects in the form of posters or brief lectures. GCB PhD Students who are required to participate: those who have been registered in the GCB 12 or more months and who have not participated at least twice. Important to note: Due to popular demand, participants must no longer register in KSL. Participation in the event may be listed on your CV, but will not be part of your KSL planning or diploma supplement.

GCB Symposium 2025

The GCB Symposium organizing committee is pleased to welcome you to website of the 2025 event: https://event.fourwaves.com/gcb2025

This year we are celebrating the GCB 20th Anniversary. The GCB office and PhD GCB committee invite to all PhD students of the program, their supervisors, mentors and co-advisors to attend this event which brings the GCB community together once a year. Registration is required prior abstract submission.

The event objectives are:

  1. Provide GCB student participants a safe environment in which to present their research to their peers.

  2. Get visibility and recognition within the University of Bern for GCB PhD students and their research.

  3. Stimulate insightful discussions and feedback.

  4. Increase networking opportunities and collaborations.

  5. Meet top researchers in the many fields constituting the GCB.

  6. Broaden participants understanding of other research fields.
